Offered in med spas and clinician’s offices around the world, Epicutis products are especially ideal for post-treatment skin after various procedures ranging from lasers to micro-needling.

A longtime veteran of the wellness industry, Rodriguez’s journey began in clinical rehab and academic classrooms, then evolved into five-star spa management, global training, and product innovation. He has worked across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas with iconic brands like Four Seasons and Shangri-La, among others.

Before joining Epicutis, Rodriguez co-founded a men’s wellness brand in Hong Kong and created an online academy focused on body therapies and wellness education.

Beauty Boss: Maxwell Stock, Founder & CEO of Epicutis

“I’m a licensed physiotherapist and massage therapist by trade,” he says. “When I entered hospitality, I also became an aesthetician—always with the heart of an educator. With over 20 years of experience, I bring clinical thinking, hands-on expertise, and a passion for teaching to everything I do.”

In his role as Vice President of Global Spa & Wellness for Epicutis, Rodriguez is focused on building and expanding spa and wellness partnerships worldwide, leading education strategy—from protocols to global training platforms, elevating the guest experience through science-based treatments and tools, and supporting the company’s teams and partners so Epicutis becomes the go-to in professional skincare.

“What’s kept me grounded through it all?” Rodriguez says. “A deep belief that education is the most powerful upgrade we can offer—to teams, clients, and ourselves. I’ve been lucky to train, be trained by, and collaborate with incredible people and cultures worldwide. That diversity has shaped how I lead, teach, and connect.”

We chatted with Rodriguez who gave the scoop on his favorite products, wellness trends to look out for, secrets for success, best advice, and much more.

Epicutis is a science-based skincare line that features clean and minimalist formulations with highly efficacious patented ingredients.

What made you interested in pursuing luxury wellness as a career?

I’ve always been passionate about helping people feel better—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Early on, I realized that luxury wellness gave me the tools to do just that, but on a deeper, more transformative level.

I made the shift from hospitals to (luxury) hospitality. At the end of the day, we’re doing the same thing—just with a different approach and reach.

Wellness isn’t just a trend—it’s a way of life. Luxury spa environments allow us to slow down, tune in, and elevate both science and soul. I saw an opportunity to create spaces that are both healing and high-performing.

Let’s be honest—the world needs more moments of presence and purpose. Luxury wellness delivers that.

What inspired you to join Epicutis?

Love this question. Three big reasons:

  • Science-first skincare. I was blown away by the clinical data and how results-driven the line is finally, something that truly works.

  • People-first leadership. During my first week, I kept hearing, “We’ve built the best team.” That spoke volumes. The top leadership is all heart and soul—you feel it in every conversation, decision, and detail.

  • A real mission. We’re not selling fluff. We’re genuinely helping skin heal—and that’s powerful.

With my background in health sciences—and my passion for longevity, biohacking, and prevention—I’m naturally drawn to brands that lead with science and substance. Epicutis is clean, honest, and elevated—just like skincare should be. Most importantly, it works.

Epicutis’ signature products include their Lipid Serum, Oil Cleanser, and Hyvia Creme.

Future plans for the brand?

  • Launching a new wellness education platform tailored to providers and leaders

  • Designing exclusive Epicutis spa protocols for face and body—wellness-forward and results-driven

  • Growing our international footprint through aligned luxury partnerships

What are your favorite products from Epicutis?

These are my top three—and I always keep them with me:

  • Lipid Serum. The hero. Backed by science, incredibly healing, and honestly the best product to use post-treatment.

  • Arctigenin Brightening Treatment. My skin savior. I couldn’t believe how effective it is—all the brightening benefits, zero irritation.

  • Eye Masks. Instant results. I use them before flights and big meetings—total game changer. Fun fact: I was championing this product even before I joined the brand. I kept encouraging Lisa and Max to develop it!

These aren’t just products—they’re my go-to tools. They make my life easier and my skin better.

Epicutis products are also feature in many treatments at various spas, med spas, and esthetician’s studios.

Are there any wellness trends you see gaining traction?

Yes, and I’m excited about the direction we’re heading. Top of mind:

  • Spa meets longevity. Treatments that go beyond a glow, supporting long-term health.

  • Emotional wellness. More brands are recognizing the connection between skin and stress.

  • The fusion of nature, smart tech, and a bit of AI. All done simply. No frills, just effective tools that deliver.

The future of wellness is holistic, smart, and intentional. And I’m all in.

Who inspires you?

So many people, but a few standouts:

  • My mother: A teacher who raised us with resilience and unconditional love. A lifelong learner who taught me to research, read, and share. That shaped how I lead and teach.

  • Every spa therapist I’ve trained who turned their craft into a calling.

  • Leaders who listen: Those who put people first and drive change with purpose.

Secret to success?

Consistency + empathy + curiosity + simplicity.

  • Show up—even when no one’s watching.

  • Care about people—not just results.

  • Stay curious—especially when you think you know it all.

That’s my formula. Works every time.

Epicutis was born in an advanced scientific laboratory and utilizes over 20 years of research and development experience by experts.

Beauty secrets?

Keep it simple:

  • Prioritize sleep like it’s your job.

  • Connect with nature—in whatever way works for you.

  • Stay hydrated.

  • Cold showers.

  • And of course, Lipid Serum. Twice a day. Non-negotiable.

Wellness tips?

Let’s bring it back to basics:

  • Move daily—even a quick walk counts.

  • Minimize processed foods.

  • Meditate—even for 5 minutes.

  • Have fun with the people you love.

Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to be consistent.

Best advice?

When I was 16, I had the chance to move to another continent to study — but I was scared. My dad told me: “Just try it. There are only two options — you’ll like it or you won’t. But at least you’ll know.”

That stuck with me. It taught me to be brave, stay curious, and choose experience over regret. That mindset has guided nearly every big decision I’ve made since.

How do you like to relax?

Simple: nature, journaling, music, and loved ones.

I hike every chance I get—especially when I’m home in Costa Rica. I listen to Latin music (and dance a little).
Journaling keeps me grounded—pen to paper, old-school style.

When I’m surrounded by the people I love, I feel fully recharged.
