The 6 Best Spas in Oregon

Each treatment begins with a sound bowl, while botanical bodywork, expert massage techniques, and healing sound therapy harmonize to support deep relaxation and emotional release. Organic ingredients, handcrafted massage oils, and time-honored plant medicine traditions are incorporated into each service.

We chatted with Hollie Stewart, Operator of Hive + Honey at Tu Tu' Tun, to learn more about treatments to try, insider spa tips, and more.

Why You’ll Love It: Guests often say stepping into our space feels like a return to themselves. Tucked into the natural rhythm of Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge, Hive + Honey offers something rare—intentional, heart-led care in an environment that invites deep rest. The experience is unhurried, sensory-rich, and always bespoke.

Key Features: Our spa is nestled on the tranquil grounds of Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge, with a natural spring bubbling gently in the distance. Guests often arrive after time in the riverside sauna, a soak in the year-round heated pool, or a cold plunge in the Wild & Scenic Rogue River.

In the cooler months, they’re welcomed into our cozy spa lounge with a crackling fire and soft throws. The treatment beds are layered with feather-down comforters, plush, weighty, and cocooning. Inviting deep rest as the senses are soothed with aromatherapy, ambient lighting, and curated sound.

Guests may also pre-order a seasonal spa picnic or house-made charcuterie and wine prepared by Executive Chef Derek Piva, to enjoy on the private patio post-treatment, extending their sense of calm and connection with the land.

Insider Tip: Our offerings are intentionally limited to preserve quality and presence. Booking ahead, especially for weekends or special events, is essential. If you’re visiting during a Full Moon, be sure to ask about our candlelit treatments. They’re soulful, rare, and always book quickly.

Bonus: Treatments take place in our glass-walled cabins, immersed in the surrounding forest, with filtered light and the sounds of the Rogue River just beyond. Each service begins with the gentle chime of a sound bowl and guided aromatherapy breaths to help guests settle into stillness.

After their treatment, guests are welcome to linger with herbal tea, infused spa water, or a celebratory glass of wine. We can also arrange for a seasonal picnic lunch or charcuterie and wine to be enjoyed on the spa’s private patio—an invitation to extend the experience in nature.

Snacks Served: Guests are welcomed with herbal teas, infused spa water, fresh-baked cookies prepared in-house, and a glass of wine from thoughtfully selected regional vineyards, including Cowhorn and Johan Vineyards each rooted in biodynamic farming and a shared ethos of connection to the land. These wines reflect the same sense of place and purpose that defines the experience at Hive + Honey at Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge; intentional, elemental, and quietly luxurious.

Splurge Treatment: The Golden Drift Ritual is a 2.5-hour, full-body experience inspired by the gentle flow of the Rogue River, a deeply restorative alternative to traditional massage. The journey begins with The Root + Bloom, a customized facial using Eminence Organic Skin Care to hydrate, brighten, and renew.

A calming scalp massage and gentle acupressure ease tension, while a full-body dry brushing ritual stimulates circulation and promotes detoxification. The arms and legs are richly moisturized with a hand-painted application of botanical lotion.

The back is treated with a smoothing body polish and warm enzyme mask under steam, followed by warm compresses. Crafted to nurture the skin and soothe the nervous system, this ritual reconnects you to the natural rhythm of Hive + Honey at Tu Tu’ Tun Lodge.

Insider’s Favorite: One of my personal favorites is a sensory experience that begins with an aromatic Crown Chakra Oil, applied under gentle steam. Crafted with Ayurvedic herbs and nutrient-rich oils, this blend not only supports cognitive clarity and restful sleep. It also deeply moisturizes the scalp and hair, leaving them soft, nourished, and subtly scented.

A slow rhythm of pressure point massage and warm compresses ease the scalp, temples, and neck—releasing stored tension and inviting the mind into stillness. It’s ideal for those seeking clarity, grounding, or simply a deeper state of calm.

Most Unique Treatment: The Heart Glow is our most unique and soulfully attuned offering—a 2-hour, heart-centered ritual that feels like a love note to the body’s emotional core. Swedish-style massage melts tension held in the chest, shoulders, and spine, while our handcrafted Hridaya Remedy, a botanical heart salve made in Vermont; is pressed gently over the heart space to encourage softness and release.

Rose-soaked compresses steep the skin in warmth and comfort, and rose quartz crystals are placed with intention to invite compassion and ease. The steady hum of a sound bowl carries guests into stillness, making the entire experience feel like being held by the forest itself.

Featured Products: We exclusively feature Eminence Organic Skin Care in all of our facials and body treatments, alongside a bespoke collection of plant-based remedies formulated in collaboration with our Vermont herbalist, an integral part of the Hive + Honey family.

Her creations are crafted with reverence: seasonal, small-batch, and deeply aligned with our belief that skincare is soul care. From our signature rose oil to grounding anointing balms and aromatic infusions, each blend is made just for us, carrying the quiet power of the forest and the wisdom of slow medicine.
